Now that's curl power! Katy Perry gets a 1920s makeover in Snow White-inspired photoshoot for ghd

Killer curls: Katy Perry is styled as a 1920s Evil Queen in a Snow White-inspired photoshoot for the ghd Scarlet campaign

With her fondness for kitsch, Katy Perry regularly looks to the Fifties and Sixties for fashion inspiration.

But in her latest role as the face and hair of ghd, the singer goes back a little further in time... to the Twenties.

The pop star has been given a 1920s makeover for a striking Snow White-inspired shoot, captured by acclaimed photographer David LaChapelle.

All a Twitter: Perry poses in a fringed flapper-style gown as she hangs off a fire escape surrounded by blue birds

Playing both the roles of the Evil Queen and Snow White, the 26-year-old poses in a New York hotel room and on a fire escape against the backdrop of the city's iconic Chrysler building.

As the villainous, narcissistic queen, Perry vamps it up in a revealing black dress, fingerless gloves and lacy hold-up stockings as she eyes a juicy red apple.

And as Snow White, Perry isn't so innocent as the famous character in her peach fringed flapper girl John Galliano dress as she hangs off a fire escape surrounded by blue birds.

Having being announced as the face of ghd earlier this year, Perry's Snow White shoot is her second for the brand.

The two art deco ghd Scarlet gift sets are both available now.
