Bruised but bonny: Reese Witherspoon flashes a smile as she shows off her car accident injuries while out for a jog in Los Angeles
She was enjoying her daily jog when she was hit by a car leaving her with a bruised and cut face and a nasty black eye.
And after two weeks of convalescing from the shock and her injuries, Reese Witherspoon was back out on the pavements again as she pulled on her trainers and went for a run.
The actress, 35, was snapped yesterday in her jogging gear as she pounded the streets near her Los Angeles home.
Her injuries from the accident were all too clear to see, her black eye still bruised and a plaster on her forehead masking a nasty graze.
But as she pushed her sunglasses back off her face, she flashed a big smile at the cameras, showing that she is starting to heal nicely and was not going to let the accident stand in the way of her exercise regime.
It is not the first time that Reese has been seen with her bruises since the accident happened on September 7.
Healing well: Reese's black eye still looks painful but it is on the mend
But it was her first run since the accident on September 7 when she was hit by an 84-year-old lady who was travelling at 20mph when she failed to stop for the actress as she jogged over a pedestrian crossing on the 20th street and Georgina Avenue area of Santa Monica.
Reese was left shaken and bruised and a source close to the actress told Us: 'The whole incident really frightened her.
Incognito: Reese hid her injuries behind her glasses as she and husband Jim Toth walk hand in hand to church
'The odd thing about all of this is that Reese has always been very afraid of being hit by a car.
It's been an ongoing fear of hers. She is always the first person to pull people away from the edge of the curb.'
It has emerged that Reese will not be pressing charges against the woman.
Sprinting along the Seine: Reese is a keen jogger and was seen pounding the streets of Paris with Jim this summer
