Smiling again: Elin Nordegren obviously doesn't need Tiger's private jet to make her happy

Happy again: A smiling Elin Nordegren lands at LAX yesterday and is met by a female friend

The estimated $100 million divorce settlement she was awarded probably helps keep her spirits up.

Either way, Elin Nordegren was the picture of happiness as she landed in Los Angeles last night.

Tiger’s gorgeous ex-wife flew into LAX on a commercial flight and looked thrilled to be returning to normal life.

Leaving her children at home in Orlando, the beautiful blonde hopped on a Virgin America flight, not bothering with VIP transport.

Wearing a trendy grey-striped t-shirt, ripped boyfriend-style jeans and a cute trilby hat, Elin couldn't stop smiling as she was greeted by a female friend at the airport.

It was her first out-of-state trip since the divorce from Tiger became final.
Although the 30-year-old mother-of two had regularly used the private jet while married to Tiger, she seemed none the worse for giving it up.

Down to earth: Nordegren skipped the VIP treatment as she flew commercial into LAX

'Elin has had this trip planned for about a week and even though she could easily afford a private jet she never even considered it.

'She’s a very rich woman but she doesn’t act like it' a source told U.S. website RadarOnline.

'[Elin and Tiger] are getting along fine,' the source said. 'They’ve had no issues now that the marriage is over. They have been great about sharing custody of their two kids and both of them seem a lot more relaxed now.'

Elin has been busy lately. Earlier this month she was house hunting in South Florida, where Tiger recently finished renovations of his $50 million mansion.

With her rumoured $100 million divorce settlement she clearly didn't have to worry about the cost as she toured a two-story penthouse apartment in Florida worth around $5 million.

Accompanied by an estate agent and her 20-month-old son Charlie, Elin spent 20 minutes looking round the beach front apartment in the exclusive enclave of Jupiter.

Wearing sunglasses, a hat and a loose white top, at times she seemed pensive as she toured the four bedroom, five bathroom property.

With the pair sharing custody of their children, Charlie and Sam, three, the prospective new pad would be handily near Woods' new home on Jupiter Island.

Elin was philosophical about the financial settlement which she received after her divorce was finalised in August.

Sprawling: Woods' new $50 million mansion in Florida has its own golf course

'Money doesn't make you happy,' she told People. 'But I have to be honest: It is making some things easier. I have the opportunity to be with my children as much as I want.

'My immediate plan is for the kids and me to continue to adjust to our new situation'.

Elin and Woods were divorced after the golfer was found to have cheated on his wife with a number of women.

The National Enquirer broke the story of his infidelity, naming Rachel Uchitel, a New York based club hostess, as his mistress.

Up to sixteen women have since been reported to have allegedly had dalliances with Woods.
