Monochrome madness: Nicola Roberts posed on the red carpet at the Digital Music Awards in a long and elegant black and white printed dress

She's been under close scrutiny lately as she launches her solo career, with the jury out on many an occasion over her choice of attire.

But Nicola Roberts got it right last night as she arrived at the Digital Music Awards in London in an elegant black and white creation.

The Girls Aloud star looked very chic in the floor length gown, which set off her tiny frame.

Miaow, pussycat! Former Atomic Kitten star Natasha Hamilton looked very sexy in a smart dungaree-style outfit

Rock chicks: Florence Brudenell-Bruce showed off her slender frame in a black leather dress while stylist Grace Woodward opted for a strapless PVC number with zippers

The monochrome frock, which was decorated with black and white symbols, criss-crossed at her tiny waist.

She was performing at the event at Camden's Roundhouse, and took to the stage to sing an acoustic version of her song Yo Yo, taken from her debut solo album Cinderella's Eyes.

And she Tweeted that she had really enjoyed the night, adding: 'I LOVE doing Yo Yo acoustically.'

Strange choices: Kate Walsh wore a sailor-style dress that was mismatched with her bag and shoes while Nikki Grahame looked frumpy and old-fashioned in her shapeless lace dress

A splash of red carpet colour: Host Caroline Flack arrived in an animal print dress while TV presenter and model Zara Martin looked elegant in a floral number

Old-fashioned: Marina Diamandis looked much older than her 25 years with her grey hair and shapeless off-white silk dress

The boys are back in town: JLS were also guests at the annual event which took place in Camden

Rock boys: The Kaiser Chiefs (L-R Ricky Wilson, Nick 'Peanut' Baines and Simon Rixalso) attended the event

Young talent: Former X Factor star Olly Murs and Rizzle Kicks, who appeared on his song, Heart Skips A Beat
