Beat of her drum: Nicola Roberts wears a shot floral swing top that keeps showing flashes of her leopard print pants in the video for her catchy new single Lucky Day

She's become something of a fashion icon for her somewhat out-there sartorial sense - but it's unlikely that any style fans will be following in Nicola Roberts's footsteps when it comes to her latest outfit.

The 25-year-old Girls Aloud star has today released her video for new single Lucky Day - and she appears to have forgotten the bottom half of it.

Colourful: The video for Lucky Day sees various items on the streets turn neon as Nicola walks past, including these graffiti sperm

The slender star is seen in a very short brightly-coloured sleveless floral swing top that keeps giving flashes of her leopard print briefs.

Posted up on her official website and You Tube this morning, her choice of outfit has already raised eyebrows.

Neon aura: Nicola will be hoping that the new single does better than Beat Of My Drum which only reached a disappointing Number 27 in the UK charts

One fan calling themselves Kanyas1988: 'The song sounds awesome, but what was she wearing?!'

Filmed on the streets of East Village, New York, it's been directed by Stephen Agnes, who's previously worked with the likes of White Lies and The Vaccines.

The promo sees Nicola prancing around the pavement in the sunshine, followed by a pair of backing dancers, as they draw admiring looks from passing men.

A neon aura surrounds the red-haired beauty as her multi-coloured Nike trainers flash in time to the music.

Somewhat inexplicably, as she walks past a wall, graffiti-ed sperm also flash in time to the beats.

The short of it: The Girls Aloud star shot the video on the sunny streets of New York

Electric dreams: The promo clip sees red headed beauty Nicola literally light up the screen

Cover girl: The sleeve art for Nicola's new single, out next month

Girls on hold: With her bandmates Sarah Harding, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts at the Horrid Henry premiere in London last month
