Earlier this year England international Wayne made the mistake of dressing his son Kai in an Everton shirt.

The Manchester United striker, who is famously a fan of The Toffees, posted a picture of his son on Twitter in July this year wearing an Everton FC shirt.

Realising the potential controversy it may cause, Wayne, who played for Everton from 2002 to 2004, said: ‘He's in his nans house I'll send u all one in his new united kit tomorrow.’

So while Kai arrived at Old Trafford today in a full red devils replica kit ready to watch his father take on Norwich, Coleen was left red faced after a couple of very public wardrobe malfunctions.

The 25-year-old was spotted wearing a nude-coloured bra despite having decided to go out in a blue backless dress.

As Coleen walked Kai from the car park into the stadium it became apparent that the fashion designer had forgotten to wear a backless bra.

Coleen appeared to have a Marilyn Monroe moment when her dress got uplifted by a gust of wind but the stylish WAG managed to to keep her modesty... mostly.

But Prince William’s sister-in-law Pippa Middleton, his former girlfriend Jecca Craig and ex-Spice Girl Geri Halliwell might have been wishing they had exchanged fashion notes before they turned out for the occasion in Central London – they each wore a shimmering red dress with plunging neckline.

However, the clash did not stop Pippa and Geri – who sat at neighbouring tables – chatting to each other. They appeared to be ‘getting on like a house on fire’, according to one observer.

Princess Beatrice, in a floral gown, and her sister Princess Eugenie were among the revellers, though the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who attended the ball three years ago, did not make an appearance. Prince Harry also had other plans.

The 28-year-old singer stepped out with her bob teased into tumbling curls after a lengthy trip to a hair salon earlier this week.

Cheryl teamed her wavy look with a £345 Marc Jacobs printed panther minidress, brown boots and a £855 Ralph Lauren satchel-type bag as she made the most of the sunshine during her trip to New York.

Just four weeks before the clocks go back for winter, Britain is in the middle of an Indian summer like no other.

Met Office forecasters said there was a strong chance temperatures in the south could today nudge above the previous high recorded in October– when the mercury hit 29.4c (85f) in March, Cambridgeshire, 16 years ago to the day.

Met Office forecaster Dave Britton said yesterday’s warmest spot was Cambridge, which recorded 29.2c (85f) – hotter than the Costa del Sol, Turkey, Cuba and Mexico.

It was around ten degrees above average for the start of autumn.
The previous record for the last day of September was 27.8c (82f), set in 1908 in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

Jonathan Powell, senior forecaster at Positive Weather Solutions, a network of UK-based independent meteorologists, predicted a 60 per cent chance that temperatures could hit 32c (90f) in the south today.

And Mr Britton said: ‘I will not be surprised if temperatures reach 30c (86f) in parts of the south.’

He added: ‘The high temperatures will continue through Sunday, but by Tuesday temperatures will start to slip back towards the average for this time of year.’
